Rates are based on double-spaced pages in 12 point Times New Roman or similar font, printed front side only, with one inch margins, left justified. If you send a physical manuscript, you may print on both sides to save paper, but each physical page will be counted as two written pages. You may also send your manuscript electronically in a Word format. Please e-mail with any questions you may have.

Please note that a critique is a matter of opinion, which is what you are paying for. You may not agree with the opinion given, but refunds will not be offered based on disagreement. However, I understand that being critiqued can be painful. If you don't like what you're seeing, please give it some time for the first sting to wear off before you e-mail me. I am open to discussion of your critique and will be glad to help you understand any points on which you are not clear, but we can discuss that better when you're not emotional.
For a basic critique , you will receive a three to four page document outlining the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript. (Click on the link to see a sample of a basic critique)
Numbers on the left are page ranges. A manuscript between 1 and 100 pages in length receives a basic critique for $55.00. From 101 pages to 150, the price is $65.00, etc. For example, if your novel is 345 pages, that falls between 301 and 350 pages, so the price is $90.00.

With a full critique , your manuscript will have comments inserted throughout, offering suggestions on clarity, flow, writing style, and use of language. Fiction manuscripts will receive comments on plot, characters, setting, and point of view in addition to overall writing style and use of language.
